I feel your anxiety about the canned goods! This evening we had a delicious chuck roast from Oct. 2020! I'm doing better this year than last about rotating stock.
A lovely read again, thanks Tom and Kathy. The part about not wanting to use the preserved things really resonated - I am terrible for not wanting to “use up” the larder stash of preserves and then things going off! Must learn from you. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday x
This was simpley lovely to read after I came in after mucking out the stables and redirecting some chickens, that were enjoying exploring new terrain for a while, back to their home... I made the stilton sausage rolls - absolutely delicious! I think I might just have to make them a regular ocurrence... And will try the pesto, too! Have a good Sunday
Dear Kathy and Tom, once again a great read, thanks! Regarding the honey in the cider, how do you work out the right amount per volume of cider to get enough fizz but not a cider bomb? Best, Frank
A lovely read 😀 And your store cupboard looks wonderful. I have a couple of shelves of assorted preserves ( not a patch on yours!) but I know that feeling of not wanting to open them!
Your newsletter is a breath of fresh air. Your preserve cupboard reminds me of my childhood when my dad would sit for hours slicing beans, peeling shallots and blanching cauliflower heads. Thank you
Your newsletters are so very inspiring (and such a cosy read!).
I have a few chickens, 2 pear trees, an acre and big dreams! It feels so daunting to start making more of the land we have-I don’t know where to start! But I started this morning by getting some garlic to plant, starting small. Thank you for the inspiration (and aspirations!) x

Lovely to hear about the seasonal chores , inspirational as I will attempt to grow garlic and will make your pesto. Look forward to next month.
Thank you
